Our Verdict:
It seems performance of the basic and most important features of a GPS had been compromised in the Garmin nüvi 765T 4.3-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator as most owners claim. Although its packed with amazing features that could have made the Nuvi 765 the ultimate in handheld GPS navigation, most report disappointments over its accuracy and delivery of its features. It could be that the novelties still have to be fine-tuned, but if you are looking for a GPS that gives you fast satellite locking, accurate mapping and tracking, infallible navigating assistance, the earlier Nuvi models are said to deliver these better than the newer 765T. It has always been advisable to wait till a new product gets its bugs and glitches fine-tuned rather than rushing off to be one of the first to own. |

Customer Feedback-
"My favorite part is the millions of POI, which you can search for by just typing in a name (instead of having to know what it would be under, like in some other models). It provides clear directions in voice and on screen. The blue tooth works well & pairs easily with my blackberry flip phone, automatically connecting when I turn the gps on." - Actual User Review - Amazon.com "I've been using the 765-T for about two months and it works fine, just before and after a "mandatory" software upgrade by Garmin intended to fix some bug. I have had only one major trouble when driving from LA to Vegas, using the FM transmitter and simultaneously the MP3 player and the bluetooth, when I was receiving a lane-assistant audio direction I received an incoming call and then the system blocked all but the GPS guidance who continued working well, but in a mute mode, I had no more audio until I got to the next pump and turned off the car. When restarting, everything was back to normal and has been so far." - Actual User Review - Amazon.com "Overall quite pleased with this GPS. Very quick to initialize and get you going. Two complaints: first, zooming in or out is tricky if you want to go from a close shot to overall view of route and back - the screen refresh is slow and spotty in that mode; second, street names are not displayed until the zoom level is too close to be of any Despite those complaints I recommend this unit; it is an excellent buy." - Actual User Review - Amazon.com "if you can live without the new features, you might be better off with an older unit. That said, if you're looking for a gps device with all of the latest features and compatibility, this seems to be a solid pick." - Actual User Review - Amazon.com |
